Simon Acres Recruitment have a fantastic opportunity for a Trade Counter Sales Manager to join our exciting and rapidly expanding business.  

This role oversees the company’s Trade Counter, Showroom and associated sales activity. This is a permanent position offering up to £30,000 + Bonus for the right candidate. 

Your duties will include: 

  • Overseeing the running of the company’s trade counter
  • Establishing and maintaining professional and responsive relationships with customers to ensure total customer satisfaction
  • Providing accurate weekly reporting of the trade counter’s activity analysis and take action where activity does not meet the minimum performance levels
  • Reviewing KPIs on a weekly and monthly basis to ensure that the department is both meeting and exceeding targets
  • Building strong relationships with customers, ensuring the retention and development of business
  • Maintain and increase the companies market share
  • Making decisions regarding the most cost-effective course of action required for the resolution of customer issues
  • Ensure that your team can meet/exceed financial performance targets as set by the business and take corrective action where appropriate
  • Dealing with the CRM management and maintenance; ensuring all customer interaction is recorded and managed through the CRM system on a daily basis
  • Identifying key trends and implement sales initiatives throughout the trade counter to drive profit and sales
  • Liaising with the Marketing Manager to coordinate sales promotional campaigns across the trade counters, quantifying and reporting on the success of each campaign
  • Managing display product placement and the verification of product displays amongst your customer base 
  • Ensuring that your team is motivated and have the skills, capabilities and resources to meet evolving business needs
  • Undertaking performance reviews with each member of Trade Counter staff and implement any training and development identified
  • Coaching and development of a team to ensure professional, highly motivated and well regarded colleagues
  • Contributing to the businesses decisions that impact on service, costs and sales with measurable outcomes


Candidate specification: 

  • Proven experience of excellent sales and negotiation skills
  • Good knowledge of the commercial marketplace and ability to analyse trends to formulate strategies, tenders and negotiation techniques to win new business
  • Ability to influence, motivate and manage existing client relationships
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Strong management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to meet strong financial targets


Work experience requirements

You should have: 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a management role
  • Proficient in MS Office (particularly Excel and Word)
  • Experience of working with trade customers
  • Experience of business-to-business selling



  • Experience of running a trade counter
  • Extensive KBB Industry knowledge and experience covering products and markets
  • Experience of using a CRM system
  • ILM Qualification
