Simon Acres Recruitment are seeking a Spray Shop Manager for a well established manufacturer based in Greater Manchester. This is a permanent position offering up to £35,000 per annum for the right candidate.
You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Spray Shop. You’ll lead, manage and inspire your team to deliver exceptional performance and results. 
Your main duties will include:
  • Responsible for daily performance of the Spray Shop, ensuring the department is achieving KPIs and managing operational resource correctly
  • Driving continuous improvement within the Spray Shop
  • Overseeing the scheduling all the work through the Spray Shop, ensuring all schedules are lean and efficient
  • Controlling labour requirements, flexing with agency staff when required
  • Delivering daily team meetings and report to senior management on key issues via various delivery methods including daily huddle, formal meetings etc
  • Ensuring the Spray Shop is capable of delivering the volume requirements of the business in a fast and efficient way whilst ensuring customer service requirements are met; measured by KPIs and internal SLAs
  • Responsible for achieving targets as set by the Head of  Operations
  • Implementing colleague training where necessary and keep training records up to date
  • Ensuring costs are controlled effectively, whilst delivering a high level of service
  • Ensuring all records of work are kept up to date and accurate
  • Ensuring work is carried out to the timescales set and internal processes adhered to
  • Ensuring all items from the Spray Shop are quality checked prior to despatch
  • Liaising with relevant Managers on customer issues/complaints/queries
  • Monitoring and manage team performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Adhering to Health and Safety regulations, ensuring that all staff are complying to the relevant H & S protocol and SSOW

The candidate: 

  • Open communicator – able to communicate clearly in both written and verbal forms
  • Ability to drive and deliver new initiatives and process improvements
  • Able to think logically to make commercial decisions and use their own judgement
  • Flexible and willing to work appropriate hours and when required to meet the needs of the business and customers.
  • Possess the ability to manage, develop and inspire people
  • Experienced in high volume output to tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to add value to existing processes and procedures


Essential experience:

  • Previous experience of people management (minimum of 2 years)
  • Proficient in MS Office (particularly Excel)
  • Experience of production scheduling working through a work-shop
  • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety legislations, COSHH
  • Planning, scheduling, operating and maintaining a semi-automated production line
