Simon Acres Recruitment are looking for a Product Manager for a well established manufacturer in the West Midlands. This is a permanent position paying up to £36,000 for the right candidate. 

The successful candidate will be a key member of the Marketing Department committed to the ambition of becoming the best in the industry, delivering market leading products and an inspirational experience across all brand touch points.


Your duties will include: 

  • Developing product and marketing related plans to ensure the company objectives are met in line with the strategy, budgets, and sales forecasts
  • Looking for opportunities for product development based on the maintenance of accurate recording systems and sound analysis including existing product for the sector
  • Developing, maintaining, and providing proposals based on accurate recording of product sales and trends
  • Taking ownership of product pricing and on-going competitor benchmarking
  • Ongoing maintenance and development of the product mix to maximise profitability and develop range authority
  • Recommending actions to extend or terminate product life cycles within the sector
  • Collating, maintaining, and reporting on market intelligence and competitor activity
  • Developing and maintaining a detailed level of technical knowledge of product, using this knowledge, you will provide your creative input into each project
  • Delivering regular competitor and pricing analysis to ensure correct product positioning in relation to the market and effective margin levels
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of all sector literature and POS requirements in conjunction with the Head of Marketing
  • Assisting in the preparation and management of exhibitions, customer days and launch events
  • Being responsible for the development and enhancement of the the company website
  • Developing and producing training documentation and deliver appropriate training sessions for internal and external customers, as well as developing an online training portal and programme for the business
  • Liaising and co-ordinating with CAD Companies, ensuring product files are kept up to date and new products added prior to launch date
  • Working with the Head of Marketing in producing plans for PR activities/plans, social media campaigns and updates to the company website
  • Being responsible for developing content for agreed customer brochures, emails, and direct mail
  • Actively participating in enhancing team members knowledge of both the business and the product range


You should have: 

  • 2-3 years’ experience within a marketing environment
  • Product strategy experience of increasing brand awareness 
  • The role will require some travel within the UK and possible overseas

Qualifications required:

You will have a marketing qualification equivalent to degree level
