Simon Acres Recruitment are looking for a Head of Platform Development to work with an established business in the UK.

You will combine interfaces and workflows to enhance user experience. You will also look at websites for development, maintenance and improvement. 

This is the ideal role for a highly experienced Magento 2 and/ or PHP Developer. 

Ultimately, you will make our client's product more user-friendly and intuitive to attract and retain customers and increase revenues from websites we run.

 

Your duties will include: 

  • Translate requirements and mark-up languages using HTML/CSS/JS to create user-friendly web pages
  • Maintain and improve websites, including product catalogue and make updates (product types, categories, names, SKUs, attributes, photos and descriptions)
  • Handle CMS / content updates
  • Configure sites – location, contact, store information, email addresses, design systems, etc.
  • Assist with site marketing updates
  • Write functional requirement documents and guides
  • Create and implement governance and standard operating procedures for enterprise usage of Magento and its various integrations to key technologies
  • Document application and web site changes or change procedures
  • Optimise applications for maximum speed
  • Set up and maintain monitoring tools on web servers and web sites
  • Design mobile-based features
  • Assist developing mobile and desktop optimisation and guest experience
  • Collaborate with back-end developers and web designers to improve usability
  • Utilise site analytics to understand overall health of the site and lead changes as appropriate to meet site KPIs
  • Get feedback from, and build solutions for, users and customers
  • Be part of a testing group for new sites and site functionality
  • Work closely with internal and external parties for best in class site operations and experience
  • Create quality mock-ups and prototypes
  • Minimise content latency, understand image requirements
  • Help back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting
  • Partner with IT and external vendors to ensure strong site performance and uptime
  • Ensure high quality graphic standards and brand consistency
  • Ensure execution of promotions and markdowns in partnership with marketing team
  • Stay up to date on emerging technologies
  • Keep current with emerging web technologies and site experiences thorough relevant benchmarking, blogs and events
  • Rigorously educate yourself on the latest development techniques and best practices
  • Develop training documentation and onboarding for all types of Magento users
  • Manage user access across various web properties, departments and roles
  • Handle custom modules and extensions as needed
  • Maintain a consistent look and feel throughout all web properties
  • Continuously look for ways to improve conversion rates and implement A/B tests
  • Implement new digital technologies or development techniques that help to meet project goals and business objectives

Required Education and Experience:

  • 2 years’ experience working as a site administrator on Magento ecommerce websites B2B and B2C
  • Web mark-up, including HTML5, CSS3
  • Expert knowledge with Content Management Systems in Magento
  • Understanding of web mark-up, including HTML5, CSS3
  • Strong understanding of CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
  • Knowledge of Magento CMS, PHP5, AJAX, JQuery, JavaScript, OOPs
  • Highly experienced using JS Frameworks (jQuery, NodeJs, Vue.js, React etc.)

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Magento 2
  • Salesforce/CRM integration knowledge is a plus
  • Programming: 2 years (Preferred)
  • CSS: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

  • Yes, temporarily due to COVID-19
