Simon Acres Recruitment are working with a well-established appliance company based in Scotland, who are looking for an Area Business Manager.

Offering a basic salary of £50,000, plus a bonus of £24,000 pro-rata for the first year.

The Role:

  • Communicating initiatives, product information, news and issuing & offering resolutions to all Trade Partners promptly
  • Covering physical and remote visits to all accounts regularly
  • Actively seeking and opening suitable new accounts to expand the customer base and further develop the business
  • Identifying opportunities and developing business and promotional plans
  • Completing all administration, including Cicero activities and all relevant and requested, within a given time scale
  • Carrying out and supporting customer product training that may be required, both in the field and at HQ in Buckinghamshire, or other locations as required
  • Promoting attendance at the brand training centres in Buckinghamshire
  • Reviewing your dealers regularly, in conjunction with the RBM, for movement to Telephone Account Management (TAM), or transfer back to your Area
  • Ensuring dealers have adequate levels of literature, promoting the use of all promotional material (POS) to maximise the effectiveness of any activity
  • Effectively using area budget, applying Retailer Cost Compensation procedures to maximise sales opportunities
  • Participating in public exhibitions, dealer and trade events
  • Working as a team member, to contribute to the overall success of the Region
  • Maintaining a tidy and presentable company vehicle, and keeping a tidy work area
  • Using SALA, Cicero and CRM processes for the improvement of sales and customer sales service


Candidate Requirements:

  • Excellent understanding of the Domestic Appliances Marketing and/or the kitchen independent sector of the market
  • Good basic (minimum) skills in SALA & Cicero
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstratable negotiation skills
  • Works well with facts and figures
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems
  • Ability to demonstrate a tenacious and resilient mindset
  • Be able to manage time and priorities effectively
  • Proficient with MS packages such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must hold a valid and clean driving licence
  • Flexible with business travel requirements
